BROTHER EAST, BROTHER WEST

Heartland Rock

Brother East Brother West came together when they saw a need in the local music community for a group that could play for a wide variety of crowds, perform a wide range of music, and draw crowds into a performance. With over 70 years of combined experience, Brother East Brother West rapidly became one of Nebraska’s most entertaining acts. With 250 songs spanning six decades, Brother East Brother West knows how to deliver music to please your patrons.

Brother East Brother West is guitarist/vocalist Jamie Hanmer and bassist/vocalist John Nania.

From its beach towns to bohemian cafes, California native Jamie delivers a laid-back guitar style and smooth vocals with a West Coast vibe. With more than 30 years of performance and session experience, Hanmer engages audiences with a deeply rooted Americana soul.

Originally from New York, John has logged countless musical miles and nearly 5,000 shows and recording sessions on four continents. He’s played bass, guitar, and Chapman Stick for various artists and producers, from regional heroes to Rock & Roll Hall of Famers and Grammy Winners.

Whether performing at the 2022 and 2024 Nebraska Blues Challenge, wowing audiences at the 2024 Omaha Battle of the Bands, performing onscreen at the 2024 Veteran’s Memorial Park 4th of July Celebration, being featured in a spotlight story on KIOS’ Live & Local with Mike Hogan, or logging 65 shows in 2024, Brother East Brother West has gathered a loyal following in Omaha & Lincoln.

“I can always count on Brother East, Brother West for a great night of music and a super fun show!” Shelby Goodrum, manager of Travel Design Lounge and a fan.

“I’ve seen Brother East, Brother West at various clubs and hired them for private events with various audiences. They’re great performers who can entertain crowds and adapt their sets to every situation,” Jule G.
